With an automatic numbering head, there are two (2) pneumatic valves. One controls the marker striking the part, the other controls the numbering head actuator that ratchets the auto wheel to the next position. Valve #1 is fired to mark a part, valve #2 is fired at the end of each shift to actuate the wheel and change the reading. The five (5) auto wheels are all sequenced in line, so the operators don’t need to change the tool at all. Once per week, at the end of 3rd shift, valve #2 is fired (9) times, this allows the day code “1-7” to reset back to “1” and the unit is good to start the new week.
